Food is the lifeblood of cities, yet those experiencing food insecurity are frequently excluded from food policy planning processes. This chapter draws on empirical research conducted in Sydney, Australia, to identify core values of vibrant, inclusive local urban “foodscapes’’ as community places providing food security and provide examples of interventions that contribute to the transition to a more social just, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable food system.
