Grounded Theory is a qualitative research method that uses a systematic set of procedures to develop an inductively derived Grounded Theory about a phenomenon. It has made an important contribution to qualitative research methodology. It has been used in combination with other research methods to provide powerful ways for handling research data and analysis. This chapter gives a brief description of Grounded Theory and identifies some potential problems based on some criticisms of qualitative researchers against Grounded Theory.
