Social enterprises create social value and positive sustainable outcomes. Increased competition for donor funding and a lack of supportive social enterprise ecosystem in developing markets, however, can serve to weaken their abilities to compete and generate valuable sustainability outcomes. Given that addressing these challenges requires a multi-stakeholder approach, the role of entrepreneurial project management (EPM) represents an important approach to developing resilient social enterprise ecosystems. This chapter is based on an exploratory qualitative research approach that draws on data from six social enterprises in rural Uganda. Social enterprises in rural Uganda are adopting an EPM approach through several project management phases such as entrepreneurial project initiation, planning, monitoring, and controlling to enhance their sustainability. The chapter highlights the potential of EPM in promoting the sustainability of social enterprises and provide insights that can inform policy and practice in this field.
