This chapter analyzes investigations involving invasive procedures in human beings within the Spanish legal framework. It highlights the ethical and legal requirements for obtaining informed consent, as mandated by Spanish Law 14/2007 on Biomedical Research. This law ensures that participants receive comprehensive information about the procedures, risks, benefits, and alternatives, enabling informed and voluntary decisions. The chapter addresses challenges such as the complexity of information and communication barriers, emphasizing the need for clear and effective communication. Ultimately, informed consent upholds participant rights and fosters trust in Spanish healthcare and research practices.
