The dangers of plagiarism are one of the first warnings to students when they arrive at a university. For some, it is seen as an academic crime that is easily committed by students, consciously or unintentionally. Although there is a common attitude toward plagiarism, the definition of plagiarism tends to vary among academic institutions. There is one question about plagiarism that arouses interest in the academic discourse: plagiarism and creativity, are they mutually exclusive? This is not an easy question to answer as it depends on two perspectives: ethical and cognitive.
