This entry brings the principles of the reproductive justice movement together with a feminist disability approach and intersectionality to draw attention to individual and structural
inequalities impacting on women with disabilities through the perinatal period. It also provides suggestions for how women with disabilities can achieve reproductive justice by situating their right to control their bodies within the context of broader social, health, and community systems and structures. Promoting individual autonomy and creating more equitable healthcare systems that acknowledge the diverse experiences of all mothers necessitates dismantling structural barriers while amplifying marginalized voices in healthcare decision-making processes.
