The Final Breakup: UMNO and the Chinese in GE14

Since the preceding essay was written two years ago, UMNO and BN were defeated in the 14th General Election (GE14). Consistent with what I have described earlier, the Chinese community abandoned UMNO/BN completely in the 9 May polls. The Chinese voted for the DAP and other parties from the opposition Pakatan Harapan (PH) alliance, allowing it to win all of the Chinese-majority constituencies.
