Unions are or should be engaged with regional levels of governance to realise their purpose and exercise their capacities. Regions are increasingly considered as a relevant space to shape the future of work, to create good or bad jobs or to transform bad (good) jobs into good (bad) jobs. This book seeks to address these possibilities. In various ways, all contributors add to the development of a distinctive approach to understanding the role and place of trade unions in the processes and dynamics of regional institutional and organisational experimentation for better work. It may be that during such experimentation, unions can begin to address the challenges arising in the field of work and employment.
