In this chapter, Robert Brown and Mary Ann Hunter, two arts educators who have extensive experience working in and researching artist-teacher relationships, take a closer look at the work of artists. Their exploration, illustrated with anecdotes from practice, is framed by two interconnected questions, namely, what enables teachers and artists to realise the potential of creative partnerships, and what can be learnt from artists that inspires and informs artistry in our teaching? The chapter also seeks to establish a dialogue with readers through a series of provocations - questions for individual deliberation and group discussion.
