Workplace mental health: development of an integrated intervention strategy for an Australian policing organisation

Mental health problems account for 24 per cent of total years lost due to disability and are the third largest cause of the overall disease burden in Australia (Begg et al., 2007; Mathers et al., 1999). The majority of these mental health problems occur in workingage Australians, with one in five Australians aged 25-64 years experiencing an anxiety, affective, or substance use disorder (AIHW, 2010).
