Myth-understanding
A new body of text works that explores the slippage between language, communication and text through the use of traditional folk art cutting techniques and current screen based pictorialism. The central research proposition is two-fold; one that builds upon developmental and experimental studio-based methodologies and the other that explores the implications of language and text within this environment. Following this, the research questions are; how does the screen or façade function in contemporary art practices and can this function be sourced from traditional craft and folk art methodologies? Does language have the ability to accurately describe philosophical reverie or intention when stripped of contextual meaning and familial associations?
