'Silt', a prose poem in three parts, tells the story of the collision of the ore carrier Lake Illawarra with the Tasman Bridge, in 1975, occasioning the wreck of the ship and the collapse of a section of the bridge. The events are recalled through the eyes of the prose poet at three points in her life - as a small child in 1975, a school child in the 1980s, and a woman in the present.
