The Money Shot is a word game. It starts with the word cash, and by changing one letter at a time, in four simple steps you get lust. This work explores the idea that there is very little that separates money and sex, and what comes between these basic human desires is filled with negativity and aggression. Lash is a verb or noun that means to strike out or an object that strikes another and last means the final in the order or the lowest in importance or ranking. The text in The Money Shot never reveals itself all at one time; the matt and gloss black surfaces force the viewer to move and bob around the work in order to view the words. The text slips in and out of sight as if there is a great mystery behind the wording, and the coerced movement by the viewer is meant to instill part frustration as well as obligatory involvement within the game playing. The lenticular construction of the works also exaggerates this quality.
