The Reveal explores the entanglement of nature, place and culture within a printmaking practice. The work responds to the patterns and rhythms of a beach on the Derwent Estuary in Tasmania. The ebb and flow of the tide echoes the rhythms and processes of printmaking. The pull of the paper from the matrix provides a glimpse into possibilities, a pause where knowledge is revealed or thwarted, to reflect on, to repeat, or to attempt again much as the tide exposes and hides the world beneath the waters. The river and shore, the wood and paper are imagined in continuous relation as shifting points of contact and transformation.
