'Clipped Wing' Timber Bench Seat

The Clipped Wing bench by Simon Ancher refers to an innovative design extensively developed with both structural and aesthetic resolutions. Initially the clipped wing bench was designed for an exhibition in Sydney for Workshopped08. The aim was to generate a new take on the minimalist drop side bench and eliminate the support rail commonly used to enable a structural outcome. The clipped wing detail has been developed further from a bench to a stool to a drinks cabinet and sideboard.
