The flyback converter is composed of a voltage-doubler circuitry that is designed to reduce the turn ratio of the flyback converter. This enhance the gain of the converter and hence reduce the voltage and current stresses of the power semiconductor devices. Moreover, a resonant active-clamp circuit is employed in the primary that limits the voltage stress and provides zero voltage switching (ZVS) turn-on of the power switches. The resonant operation of the switches reduces the conduction loss and switching turnoff loss as well. The soft switching operation and low stresses in the switches make the overall efficiency high. The simulation result of the proposed converter has been analysed and the experiment of the prototype is done to verify the result.
