Students frequently experience 'exam anxiety' in mathematical testing. Robert Lewis has been conducting research and collecting data for the last four years on student performance in maths exams, particularly analysing performance in assignment work compared to results in an exam. Preliminary results suggest that there is a statistically significant difference between assignment results and exam results. That is, students who perform well in assignments frequently fail the exam. Robert's research explores the reasons behind this and offers solution. This research would be of interest to educators in seeking to mitigate exam anxiety.
