This presentation will explore the UTAS experience of delivering a large, multi-campus unit with a blended delivery mode, during our first semester with a new LMS. Like many education providers the unit needed to respond to economic pressures to reduce face to face contact with students married to an expectation of maintained or improved capacity to demonstrate education quality, student engagement and student retention. We will outline decisions around unit design, assessment and self-directed learning activities. The lessons learned in the implementation of the unit will be examined from the diverse and sometimes competing viewpoints of staff who had responsibility for technical support, teaching, management of casual staff and administration.
