Australia has taken a primarily thermal approach in the management of the building fabric. This will be shown in contrast with the need to manage hygro-thermal behaviour of materials, seen in the context of building regulations in other countries. The complexity of this phenomenon demands sophisticated analytical tools. This discussion will explore the usefulness and limitations of some of these simulation packages.
