Drawing on interviews with the Directors of Youth Plus, Heads of Campus, teachers and youth workers who were responsible for creating and sustaining Flexible Learning Centres across Australia, we report on lessons learned over the past 10 years. Despite considerable diversity of context and experience in each Flexi site, we found that adherence to a consistent set of principles enhanced the likelihood of successful program establishment and sustainability. We will engage the audience in examining how these lessons may inform the establishment and sustainability of Flexible Learning Programs in other organisations and locations.
