The objective of this developmental paper is to gauge the nature and direction of the cultured meat literature. Cultured meat offers a disruptive sustainability solution to the rising global demand for meat, thus offering new business opportunities and challenges. The preliminary literature review and bibliometric analysis show that the cultured meat research steams fall under three clusters: (1) Environmental impacts of cultured meat; (2) Consumer acceptance and consumption of cultured meet; and (3) Consumer perceptions of cultured meat. Building on from this review, four research opportunities are suggested: (1) Identifying comprehensive influencers; (2) Developing world contexts; (3) Marketing communications research; and (4) Relationship Marketing.
