Ensuring the PBS remains optimally fit for purpose - the need for improved retrospective review of listing decisions

<p>The Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) is a key component of Australia's National Medicines Policy (NMP), the aims of which are to achieve 'optimal health outcomes and economic objectives'.</p> <p>While the scheme generally achieves these aims, the PBS status of some well-established medicines currently prevents subsidised access to clinically and cost-effective treatments, conflicting with the aims of the NMP.</p>
