The role of enterprise/entrepreneurship education globally whilst strongly supported, is relatively plastic. This paper steps back the various debates that relate to the expected contribution of enterprise/entrepreneurship education to contemplate the positioning of enterprise/entrepreneurship education in Higher Education. We utilize four secenarios to explore a variety of ways in which enterprise/entrepreneurship education is typically positioned. Our aim is not to determine what positioning is most appropriate for enterprise/entrepreneurship education, but rather to consider the issues associated with the four types of positioning discussed. We conclude that a united pathway forward can be built around providing genuine choice and allowing individual students to travel a learning pathway that is most appropriate to their life circumstances.
