Mentoring Emerging Women Composers
What is a mentor? Does the mentoring process provide a positive outcome in terms of orchestral performances and future compositional opportunities for women? When women mentor other women, what difference does it make, if any? This paper discusses issues around the mentoring process for orchestral music written by women composers, including case studies of two current Australian composer development programs.
