Water repellence affects approximately 5 million hectares of agricultural land in Australia. However its occurrence in texture-contrast soils is not widely reported or understood. This manuscript details seasonal variations in the potential water repellence of a texture-contrast soil, and explore the mechanisms and consequences of unstable flow development at high and low antecedent moisture content.
