Serious Fun?

The inaugural University of Essex and Kaplan Singapore Applied Learning and Teaching Conference is themed around the Pedagogy and Play in Teaching Today and will explore the approaches to applied teaching and learning that utilise and draw from play as a pedagogical approach. Play is often thought of as the opposite of serious work, yet from the new economy to the digital classroom, increasingly we are seeing where the ludic is drawn upon as a resource to inspire, motivate, and sometimes, control. What we can make of these dynamics for rethinking approaches to teaching and learning today?
