Technical and economical assessment of using wind energy together with other energy sources

One of the reasons to develop wind power is about global warming. Also, using wind power results in less economic impact and any risk related to the coal fuels. However, due to uncertainty of wind, the reliability of the power system with this type of renewable energy resource decreases. Therefore, wind power comes with solar, fuel cell and or diesel generators. In this paper, the wind power including the other types of resources will be analysed. Different types of hybrid energy resources will be introduced including their pros and cons, characteristics, their components, economy considerations and suitable environmental conditions of each type. At the end, most of new approaches recently proposed to improve the operation of the hybrid energy resources will be reviewed.
