Wellbeing in the PhD journey: key challenges and a case study of the impact of mindfulness practice on psychological health journey
Dr Karen Barry is an agricultural scientist from the University of Tasmania and completed her PhD there in 2000. As well as being an active senior researcher and lecturer, she has several years’ experience in graduate research management, including currently as a Deputy Associate Dean (Research) for the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology. Through collaboration with wellbeing and mental health experts, she has initiated studies into wellbeing in PhD candidates, and is passionate about supporting the PhD journey in all aspects. She has supervised 4 PhD students and 2 Masters Research to completion and is currently supervising 3 PhD and 1 Masters Research students.
