In this paper I discuss the conceptual basis to an ongoing performance-art project, garg{oy}le – also submitted to AG3 Online as a Creative Response (see web-link). The work is theorized here partially on the basis of past iterations (see web-link > tablet; and > uber stuhl), and as a provocation for research-based practice towards a new iteration specifically for AG3, planned for production in mid-February 2010. This places me in the difficult position of discussing a work that hasn’t yet been completed, at least at the time of writing. It does however create an interesting recursion of iterations within and across practice and theory, a tentative dance between bodies of writing and performing bodies, which is more than apt given my aims for the work and for this paper.
