The Festival of Broadway is a collaborative venture between the Tasmanian State Government (Events and Tourism Tasmania), and UTAS Conservatorium. Prof Kevin Purcell used his substantial international repuation in Music theatre to attract the best international artists to Tasmania. In 2010, Stephen Schwartz performed his music along with the Tasmanian Discovery Orchestra, the Southern Gospel Choir and the Exit Left choir under the direction of both Prof Purcell and Dr Andrew Legg.
