The monthly evening meeting of the Royal Society of Tasmania was held in the evening of the 12th May; 1903. The president, His Excellency Sir Arthur E. Havelock, G. C.S.I., presided. Includes: Election of new fellows, exhibits, papers from W.H Twelvetrees and A.O Green.

In 1843 the Horticultural and Botanical Society of Van Diemen's Land was founded and became the Royal Society of Van Diemen's Land for Horticulture, Botany, and the Advancement of Science in 1844.
