1. Introduction The review by Boger (2011) is a timely andmilestone synthesis of the geology of Antarctica, and heroic in scope. However, in such a task, it is natural that details will subsequently come to light that may alter the author's conclusions. Such details are outlined here, with the purpose of drawing attention to a body of literature on Antarctica's offshore geology and the timing of final breakup from Australia, which did not feature in Boger's (2011) otherwise comprehensive review. The first point of discussion is the timing of final breakup between Australia–Antarctica and India at approximately 132 Ma. The second point is the claim that seafloor developed between Australia and Antarctica at 96 Ma.
