Conducting research off the side of your desk: A case study
journal contribution
posted on 2023-05-22, 05:17 authored by Jong, A, Shaw, E, Brehrens, H, Ellis, IClinical nursing research is one of the core elements on which evidence-based nursing is founded. As nurses we are expected to be familiar with the concept of research, know how to read a research paper and know how to incorporate the research evidence into our clinical practice. The “ANMC Competency Standards for Registered Nurses” Critical Thinking and Analysis domain element “Practices within an evidence-based framework” give us an unequivocal imperative to participate in research. However, for many nurses, the thought of conducting their own clinical research is daunting and so it was for us: two novice nurse researchers.
