In its complexes with tripod ligands containing pyridine and W-methylimidazole groups studied crystallographically, [MeHgL]NO3 (L = (py)3COH, (py)2(JV-MeIm)COH)3 the ligands are present as tridentales. The complexes have one strong Hg-N coordination interaction and two weaker Hg-N interactions. However, in the (7V-MeIm)3COH complex, MeHg11 is bound to one iV-Melm group and weakly to the hydroxy group, with two N--MeIm groups uncoordinated.4. © 1984, American Chemical Society.
