Critical appraisal on the impact of preoperative rehabilitation and outcomes after major abdominal and cardiothoracic surgery: A systematic review and meta-analysis: Counting rules are critical

We read with interest the meta-analyses by Kamarajah et al on perioperative outcomes of trials that delivered prehabilitation to abdominal and cardiothoracic surgery patients. The authors’ conclusion that prehabilitation improves morbidity and overall complication rates is consistent with other meta-analyses in these surgical populations.
