Description of Brachaluteres wolfei sp. nov. and first Tasmanian record of Urolophus paucimaculatus Dixon

A pigmy leatherjacket, Brachaluteres wolfei,sp.
nov. (Aluteridae) is described and figured from the holotype and a paratype, dredged off the east coast of Tasmania in Schouten Passage in 10 fathoms, and an account and a figure are given of the first recorded Tasmanian example of the stingaree Urolophus paucimaeulatus Dixon, 1969 (Urolophidae), trawled in Bass Strait off the Hogan Group in 60-61 fathoms.
