In this issue of Chem Catalysis, Huang and co-workers demonstrate the synthetic utility of an enantioselective palladium-catalyzed cascade reaction that is underpinned by a σ-bond C-N metathesis/isomerization/Csp3-Pd migratory insertion sequence. The capacity of this methodology to reliably and stereoselectively construct saturated 5-membered to macrocyclic N-heterocycles underscores the broad scope and impressive flexibility of this approach.
