Growing concerns about the environment resulting from global environmental degradation and adverse climate change impacts have underscored the appeal of environmental economics and the necessity of making it a major subject to be discussed widely among individuals. However, educating non‐economists about economics and incentivising them to apply economics in comprehending the environmental problems faced by modern societies is arduously challenging. This book nonetheless successfully achieves these objectives. It provides a valuable guide for environmental policy‐makers, academics and industry practitioners from other disciplines to use economic tools in addressing national and global environmental problems. The authors introduce the basic principles of environmental economics from a historical perspective and discuss how they are likely to evolve.
