The causes and symptoms of acquired brain injury (ABI) and its increasing prevalence in Australia are discussed. The key aspects and features of the Wicking Project, undertaken by Wintringham, anon-for-profit company for evaluating the efficacy of a specialized model of residential care in improving the quality of life and well being of older people with ABI and a history of homelessness and financial disadvantage.
