Macro-prudential regulation has become a hot topic in policymaking circles since the 2008–09 Global Financial Crisis, and much has been written. The distinctiveness of the chapters collected in this book is the perspective of the Asian-located economists writing. In each case, the contributing authors are based in the Asia-Pacific and bring a variety of academic, policy-maker and practitioner perspectives. I see a definite place on my bookshelf for this collection, not least as a means of background information to graduate students and researchers trying to come to grips with the historical context of rap-idly changing Asian markets in the period from 1990 to the present day.
