The Aboriginal Children's Play Project (ACPP) comprises a unique and highly significant oral history collection documenting the experiences of childhood, games and growing up in Indigenous communities in urban and rural locations across a 50-year span. It consists of almost 70 recorded interviews, some stretching for up to two hours, that were conducted in the mid-1990s with Aboriginal children, teenagers and adults. The collection also includes some photographic material, interview transcript summaries and fieldwork data sheets. Located in Museum Victoria, as part of its expansive Australian Children's Folklore Collection (ACFC), the Aboriginal play collection is a valuable, but hitherto unknown, historical resource for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities and researchers.
