Oriented nucleation of CaCO3 from metastable solutions under Langmuir monolayers

posted on 2023-05-18, 14:15 authored by Walker, JBA, Heywood, BR, Mann, SThe nucleation of CaCO<sub>3</sub> crystals from metastable solutions under Langmuir monolayers has been shown to be enhanced in the order, docosanoate > octadecylamine > octadecanol > control. Crystals nucleated under monolayers containing charged headgroups were preferentially oriented.
