In August 2007, a 62-y ear-old woman was diagnosed with FIGO stage 3C ovarian cancer after a total abdominal hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and debulking procedure. Findings included widespread omental and peritoneal disease, ovarian tumour excrescences and no palpable lymphadenopathy. She was nulliparous with no previous abdominal surgery. She was optimally debulked (<1 cm residual disease), and an intraperitoneal (IP) port inserted. Histopathology confirmed bilateral ovarian high grade serous adenocarcinoma.
