Polymer-mediated crystallization of inorganic solids: Calcite nucleation on poly(organosiloxane) surfaces
journal contribution
posted on 2023-05-18, 14:17 authored by Brisdon, BJ, Heywood, BR, Hodson, AGW, Mann, S, Wong, KKWThe controlled deposition of inorganic crystalline solids at polymeric surfaces is of considerable technological and biological interest. Advantages of such inorganic–polymeric metrices are their enhanced thermal and chemical stability, an important factor in the future design of polymer–ceramic composites. The coralâ€like growths of calcium silicate shown in the Figure overgrow deposited calcite at high catalyst concentrations. (Figure Presented.) Copyright © 1993 Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim
