Promoting research development in a practice setting

In this paper, barriers to the utilization and development of research in clinical settings are presented and the need to address structural issues within health care organizations is highlighted. The importance of collaboration between clinical agencies and teaching and research institutions is emphasized and a number of models or structures through which a clinical organization could realize a research agenda are presented and discussed.
