Two independent Brønsted-acid-mediated intramolecular Michael additions were exploited to construct the tetracyclic dehydrostenine core. As a result of synthetic studies and associated analysis of the relevant literature, revisions of the structures originally assigned to dehydrostenines A and B are proposed.
