The stature and limb-bone lengths of humerus, tibia and fibula of adult individuals – 186 male and 83 female Hungarians –, forensic cases are measured by an anthropometrical method, with the purpose of creating new regression equations for assessing stature by the lengths of the limb long bones taking into account the changes due to aging. It is possible to apply five different methods to assess the stature decline correlated to aging. The numerical procedures of regression analysis have been realized by original software. Stature regression analysis was performed on each of the three bones and on a combination of humerus and tibia. Resultant models were tested for outliers and heteroskedasticity. Regression coefficients, their standard deviations, standard error of regression, covariance matrix of the regression parameters and ANOVA tests for model adequacy were calculated. The confidence intervals of error term, stature and model parameters were determined. Nomograms for direct application of the results were built for any single bone. An assessment of the applicability of well-known formulae regarding the Hungarian population was also made. The method provided better predicting results for Hungarians.
