The natural distribution of the rare Tasmanian endemic Eucalyptus cordata is detailed. Discrepancies with the distributional data in the literature are clarified. The type location previously indicated for the species is incorrect and the population initially collected by Labillardière at Adventure Bay in 1793 has been relocated after having eluded the attention of botanists for nearly two centuries
