In the sixteen years since I entered the university system, policies and practices of this institution have changed dramatically and - I would argue - generally for the worse. This sentiment is one that I share with many other academics and students, as witnessed by regular commentaries in national and regional newspapers, in popular and scholarly journals, and on talk shows for radio and television.
