The geology of the Sandfly-Oyster Cove area, Tasmania

journal contribution
posted on 2023-11-22, 06:15 authored by TH Rodger
The Sandfiy-Oyster Cove areas consist of Permian and Triassic sediments which have been widely intruded by dolerite in the form of sills and dykes. The sills are so extensive that it appears unlikely that any of the sedimentary exposures have been left in their original stratigraphical positions.
Syenite dykes occur in the south of the area, and two basalt outcrops have been mapped.
